Valve Body

Body material should be selected according to pipeline duty, pressure, corrosion conditions and project requirements.

  • Ductile iron: a primary material direction for many water-distribution and municipal pipeline applications.
  • Cast iron: available for selected water-service configurations.
  • Carbon steel: considered when the design or project specification requires it.
  • Stainless steel: considered for specific corrosion, hygiene or material requirements.
Confirm the body grade, pressure rating, wall design and applicable product standard for the selected valve.

Seat and Sealing Materials

The sealing material must match the water type, operating temperature and required drinking-water approval.

  • EPDM: commonly considered for clean-water service, but potable-water suitability depends on the exact compound and approval scope.
