PRODUCT DETAILS

Cast Iron Ball Valve Introduction

Ball valve is a valve with a circular channel of the ball as the opening and closing parts, the ball with the stem rotation to achieve the opening and closing action of the valve. The opening and closing member of the ball valve is a perforated sphere, rotating around the axis perpendicular to the channel, so as to achieve the purpose of opening and closing the channel. Ball valves are mainly used to open and close the pipeline and equipment media.

Efficiently control the flow of fluids with our Cast Iron Ball Valve. Made from sturdy cast iron, this valve ensures long-lasting durability and a high-quality performance. Its solid design allows for reliable and precise operation, making it an essential component for any industrial or commercial piping system.

FAQs

What is a ball valve used for?

The main function of a ball valve is to control the flow of fluid in a pipe. It works by rotating a ball with a hole in the center. When the hole is aligned with the pipe, fluid can pass through (open position). When the ball is rotated so that the hole is perpendicular to the pipe, it blocks flow (closed position). This quick quarter-turn operation makes the ball valve an ideal choice for applications that require reliable closure and isolation.

Why are ball valves better than gate valves?

1 Quick operation: Ball valves only require a quarter turn (90 degrees) to fully open or close, and operation is quick and easy.
Gate valves require multiple turns to fully open or close, and operation is slower.

2 Durability and reliability: Ball valves are more durable and reliable, and their easy-to-operate design reduces wear in high-cycle applications that require frequent opening and closing. Gate valves require multiple turns, and the valve seats are susceptible to wear under frequent use.

3 Versatility: Ball valves are suitable for a wide range of applications, including gas, liquid, and steam, and can withstand high pressures and temperatures. Gate valves are commonly used for liquids, but are not as widely used in handling different types of media and pressures.

When to use a ball valve?

When it is necessary to quickly and reliably control the on/off of fluid flow, especially in high pressure, high temperature and corrosive environments and in applications that require minimum pressure drop, frequent operation and tight sealing, ball valves are an ideal choice and are widely used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, water and wastewater treatment, HVAC, etc.

Can ball valves be used for throttling?

Although ball valves can be used for basic throttling, they are not suitable for precise flow control. They are best suited for on/off applications.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of ball valves?

Advantages: Quick operation: Just a simple quarter turn to open or close.
Strong sealing
Good durability: Can withstand high pressure and temperature.
Versatility: Suitable for a variety of applications, including gas, liquid and steam.
Disadvantages: Not suitable for precise flow control.
Cost is more expensive than other types of valves.
