Wafer Butterfly Valves

Wafer butterfly valves are installed between two pipe flanges and held in place by long through-bolts. Their short face-to-face length and low weight keep cost and installation space down, which is why they are widely used in water supply, HVAC and general industrial pipelines.

Because the bolts pass through both flanges, a wafer valve cannot hold one side of the line on its own. For end-of-line service, or where the downstream pipe must be removed, choose a lug butterfly valve instead.
